This includes livestock and horse judging. Livestock and horse judging contests provide a foundation for buying, selling and producing high quality offspring. It is the base for developing qualified judges all while promoting decision making skills, public speaking and self-confidence.

Public Speaking gives youth the opportunity to master one of the greatest life skills. It allows 4Her's to develop self-confidence, practice self-expression and creativity, and teaches them how to organize and present information. In the public presentations project area, you will be able to provide information through public speaking, demonstrating, illustrating a topic, or explaining ‘why’.

The 4-H STEM Challenge is an opportunity for youth to apply their knowledge of science, technology, engineering and math to build a complex machine designed to perform a simple task, similar to a Rube Goldberg™ type machine. The challenge encourages creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking in young people.

This includes dairy, livestock, rabbit, poultry, horticulture, family consumer science and dog.

Each skill-a-thon contest allows contestants to expand their knowledge in the area they are competing. Whether your identifying rabbit diseases or vegetables or placing a class of kid's toys, each of these contests can help teach you life skills you will use forever.

Youth will learn how to provide meals and healthy snacks by choosing and preparing a recipe from any of the five food groups. They will learn how to plan a menu, nutritional information, aesthetic objectives, time management skills, food safety and sanitation, and food principles.

4-H Fashion Review teaches youth to select or create outfits that fit their body, lifestyle, budget, and wardrobe. The contest gives youth the opportunity to develop interview and personal presentation skills while letting their confidence and creativity shine.
